Limits for the temperature entropy curve
Definition
These set the maximum values on the y-axis (pressure) and x-axis (volume). The mass flow rate of gas in the system is defined.
Where it occurs
Ts curves can describe processes for both closed and open systems. There is a tendency to use them more for open systems.

How to define it
You can overwrite the default values of 1.5 kJ/kg K (max entropy), 850 K (max entropy), and 1 kg/s (mass flow) that present in text boxes on a newly opened page. Maximum entropy and temperature will become evident on the graph next time you click on it. It is best to set entropy, temperature and mass flow before any work is done.
The theory
According to the state postulate the thermodynamic state of a simple system can be specified by any two independent properties plus mass. Specifying pressure, volume and mass allows us to compute all other thermodynamic properties.
Exercises
Set the maximum entropy to 2 kJ/kgK, and the maximum temperature to 1000K . Click on the graph and check that the scales change. The correct values should be shown in the table.
